What do you know about this character now that s/he doesn’t yet know?
I know the name and sex of the baby that's due at the end of December. Jack and Logan haven't found out and haven't yet settled on a name.

What is this character’s greatest flaw?
Jack is a control freak. It used to be lying, but lying was just a manipulative way to control situations. Now that he's lived on the island for more than five years he doesn't lie nearly as much, but he still tries to control things. He meddles in relationships (Polly and Zell) and charms people to get his way. He wants to fix things, he's a big fixer. When he can't control something he gets twitchy and tries all the harder to bend things to his will.

What do you know about this character that s/he would never admit?
Jack will never admit just how much he wants a family with a child of his own. I mean his own DNA. Ever since he got the stuff about Alice he's been a bit envious about the Jack from Torchwood who has been married and had who knows how many families, how many children. I think this is an important aspect of him that goes well into the future because the first we hear of the Face of Boe is when he gives birth. Children are really important to him (and that's something he will admit).

What is this character’s greatest asset?
He is so capable. He can do so much thanks to all the things he needed to know for the Time Agency. There's a lot he can fake his way through, but there's also a lot he's good at, especially tactical planning and technology. Jack can fix, repair, or build just about any machine.

If this character could choose a different identity, who would s/he be?
As of right now I don't think Jack would choose to be anyone else. He likes his life and he now realizes that what he's done has all lead him to be the man he is today and Jack likes himself and his lot in life on the island.

What music does this character sing to when no one else is around?
40's tunes. He knows the words to songs that most people don't even realize have words, like In The Mood.

In what or whom does this character have the greatest faith?
The Doctor. Period.

What is this character’s favorite movie?
Casablanca. He loves the story and appreciates the gravity of the situation...plus he loves how Rick lies and Ilsa accepts it.

Does this character have a favorite article of clothing? Favorite shoes?
He likes his tux, he likes his (doctor who) great coat. Most of the clothes he likes aren't his, though. He likes Logan's green long sleeved shirt and that one dress Saffron was wearing the day she gave him the goodnight kiss.

Does this character have a vice? Name it.
I'd say sex, but really it's contact. Just touching. Jack gets so much out of just touching people even in the most casual manner.

Name this character’s favorite person (living or dead).
Logan...and The Doctor. He has several, actually, all for different reasons.

What is this character’s secret wish?
To get the TARDIS working and take everyone with them, if not home then just off the island and out into the wonder of the universe.

What is this character’s proudest achievement?
Being selected for the Time Agency. Even in the midst of the war with the invaders, Jack's family and friends came together to give him a grand send off to join such a prestigious organization.

Describe this character’s most embarrassing moment.
The 51st century might be a lot more accepting of sex and sexuality, but it didn't matter when Jack was fourteen and got caught with a girl in the school tech lab. They'd only been kissing and he'd had his hand up her shirt while she had hers down his pants when the teacher walked in. He was dragged to the office and his parents were called and although he wasn't ashamed of the act or desire, he was mortified that he'd been caught breaking rules and had been subject to discipline.

What is this character’s deepest regret?
His biggest regret is practically destroying the human race with the Chula ambulance. One moment of not thinking things through and he nearly destroyed humanity.

What is this character’s greatest fear?
Winding up absolutely alone and having no way to get somewhere to find other people. Jack has never done well with being alone and he's terrible at letting go.

Describe this character’s most devastating moment.
His most devastating moment was on the game station before he arrived on the island when he heard the TARDIS and ran for it, but was left behind by the Doctor and Rose. He watched the TARDIS vanish and he was left behind all alone on a satellite. See also: his greatest fear.

What is this character’s greatest achievement?
After giving this a lot of thought, I think it's monogamy. He's clearly capable of it in his future and I've enjoyed watching him grow from a very promiscuous character to someone who can have more than just sex without connection. Monogamy is something he'd always scoffed at (even though his parents were committed so he wasn't completely clueless) because it was so quaint and limiting. But his greatest achievement is finding it within himself to be committed to something and devoted to someone. This is something that relates to a spoiler so I'll keep that to myself.

What is this character’s greatest hope?
That one day he'll get off the island and be able to travel again, but he hopes against hope that he can have the people he loves along with him.

Does this character have an obsession? Name it.
Time. Jack is the most organized, regimented, punctual person. Even when he's not traveling in time and space, he still sets his alarm for volcano day.

What is this character’s greatest disappointment?
He's his own greatest disappointment. Jack often feels like he lets people down and recoils from that look people get in their eyes when he's disappointed them. He got it from his mother, he's gotten it from the Doctor both before the island and on the island, from Ianto, from Ace, and from countless others.

What is this character’s worst nightmare?
See also: greatest fear. Jack's worst nightmare right now is having to watch everyone vanish. Not just people being gone but watching them vanish before his eyes the way he just missed the TARDIS and had no choice but to watch it vanish. In his nightmare people vanish slowly, one by one, and he has no control over it and can't keep them with him. Alternately, he often dreams of being hunted down, cornered, and exterminated by Daleks.

Whom does this character most wish to please? Why?
The Doctor. The Doctor is everything to Jack and he craves the man's approval more than anyone in the universe across forever. He wants to please the Doctor because he'd like to know that he's living up to the Doctor's idea of Jack's capabilities and potential. All too often he's sure he'd letting the Doctor down. As much as he's eager to please The Doctor, he's just as likely to take charge and over ride him, but all The Doctor has to do is give him a look and he turns into an eager puppy once more.

Describe this character’s mother.
Jack's mother was blond and a little plump. Jack loved hugging her because she was soft and curved everywhere. There was nothing hard about her, which was a big reason why she fractured and fell apart so completely when she lost both her husband and her son on the same day. Jack did everything he could to make her happy and to be enough for her to try to ease her grief, but it did little good. After that day of the attack she started to grow old. Tired. Never distant, though. If anything, she did cling to Jack even more than ever, afraid that she would lose the only family she had left. It was the hardest on her of anyone when he went to the Time Agency. She was incredibly proud, but letting go of her only boy was almost as hard as losing Franklin and Gray.

Describe this character’s father.
Jack's father was the best father a boy could hope for. He worked hard but when he was home he was devoted to his sons. He encouraged them to learn everything there was to learn. He got Jack old machines for him to take apart and try to put back together. He played ball, took them out on the beach, had cook outs, sang songs...he was happy and devoted to his family. He loved his wife more than anything, marrying her when they were young and remaining true to her even to his death. Franklin died when Jack was fifteen, killed during a surprise attack by the invaders. He had left Jack and his brother Gray to hide in the safety of the woods on the dunes and he'd gone back for their mother. He was killed before he could reach her, about the same time Jack lost his hold on his little brother and the boy was taken by the invaders.

If s/he had to choose, with whom would this character prefer to live?
Although he loves Logan and enjoys their privacy, if Jack had his way they would live in a sprawling complex, the sort he had grown up in, where everyone lived together but with their own private areas. Jack loved living with the Doctor in the tree house and something like that would be his dream home, a place with Logan and everyone he considers family and close friends all living in one huge structure.

Where does this character fall in birth order? What effect does this have?
Jack is the oldest and as such he's got a strong sense of responsibility. He's steadfast and reliable to those who he views as above him and he takes care of those beneath him. He takes care of a lot of people.

Describe this character’s siblings or other close relatives.
Gray is Jack's younger brother. When Jack was 15 and Gray was 10 there was an invasion and while they were fleeing for their lives, Gray's hand slipped from his grasp. Jack has borne the guilt of this ever since then and it has profoundly shaped him. He really doesn't like to think about his brother and likes to talk about him even less.

Describe this character’s bedroom. Include three cherished items.
Jack's got a read bed that showed up for NDPD. The sheets just fit it. Jack makes it every day, sometimes two or three times. There is a wardrobe and a chest of drawers. There's also a low chest that Jack keeps his things in. For a long time that trunk and its contents were the whole of Jack's possessions (other than an island made bed). His three most cherished items are the contents of his trunk, his cat, Dulcita who is most often found on his bed and who is named after Mimi Marquez who owned her mother, Puta. Jack called Mimi Dulcita. His most treasured possession doesn't stay in his bedroom. It is a necklace with two rounds of ammo on it, one .44 round and a .30 Carbine shell with an inscription scratched into the casing. The .44 is incredibly special because it is the round that Logan had in his gun when he attempted suicide. It represents his life and he put it in Jack's hand. Jack only takes it off when he's diving so he doesn't lose it in the ocean.

What is this character’s birth date? How does this character manifest traits of his/her astrological sign?
Jack's birthday has never been stated, nor has his actual age, though he's supposed to be about 29 when Doctor Who aired in 2005. That would make him around 34 now. Astrology isn't influential because Jack was born on another planet in another galaxy and none of the stars were the same as on Earth. Being from a post galaxy crossing time for humanity, astrology ceased to be anything people believed in.

If this character had to live in seclusion for six months, what six items would s/he bring?
This depends entirely on where he's being secluded. Assuming it's the island, Jack would take his rifle and ammo (these count as one because I say so), his machete, a knife, a blanket, a lighter, and a very thick book- perhaps war and peace or something by Stephen King).

Why is this character angry?
Jack gets angry a lot, and there's generally two real reasons. He's angry if someone breaks or threatens to break a promise. This actually happens frequently with Logan. the other thing that sets him off is anyone doubting or disrespecting The Doctor.

What calms this character?
Jack is quickly soothed by the sensation of fingers in his hair, gently moving through it and against his scalp. It makes him extremely calm and he feels safe, especially if someone is holding him, too.

Describe a recurring dream or nightmare this character might have.
His most common recurring dream is of him running on a beach. The sand is dry and his feet sink and slip and it seems as if he's not really moving forward. Something is behind him, something is coming. Sometimes it's the invaders, sometimes it's Daleks, sometimes it's other Time Agents, but most of the time it's just a general threatening presence.

List the choices (not circumstances) that led this character to his/her current predicament.
Jack's choice to try is what lead him to where he is today. He wanted to try to please the Doctor, then decided to try to make House happy. He decided to try to go back to his old ways, and then tried to find a balance between his old life and his relationship with John hart and his new life on the island. He tried seeking pleasure, he tried helping out, then he tried to figure out how to make things work with Logan. He decided to try monogamy, try marriage, try family. He tried to serve the community, on the ITF and the council. The thing about Jack is that he'll try anything once and if he likes it he will keep doing it until something in his life changes.

List the circumstances over which this character has no control.
Jack would like to think he's in control of everything but the fact is that there's almost nothing. He has almost no control. He can't control people appearing or vanishing, he can't control when Logan's mad or happy, he can't control how others feel, he can't control...a lot. But he tries. He's always trying and sometimes he succeeds. He can control his schedule (as much as Logan's impetuousness and spontaneity allow). He can usually control his dog because he's trained her. He can control himself and really, although he'd like to think differently, that's about it.

What wakes this character in the middle of the night?
Not much. He and Logan sleep close so when Logan's not there he sleeps poorly, but usually only a random need to pee.

How would a stranger describe this character?
If they only knew him from a first meeting or from watching him from a distance a stranger would say Jack is friendly and outgoing, generally happy and relaxed. He's open and easygoing and flirty in that way that is charming, not creepy.

What does this character resolve to do differently every morning?
Every morning Jack is sure he'll be able to get Logan up to join him in whatever he's doing. And every morning Logan chooses sleep while Jack makes coffee, takes care of the dogs, goes for a run, and whatever else he does. But every morning he wakes up with faith that he'll be able to get his husband to get up and do what Jack enjoys in the mornings...that isn't sex.

Who depends on this character? Why?
Logan, of course, depends on Jack to be there for him. To be strong and to love him unconditionally. Saffron depends on him to help with the running of the club. If asked, that's who Jack would name because that's all he really thinks about, but more people than that depend on him, for example, Bill, the kitchen, and everyone who uses the kitchen since Jack provides food. There are many others but Jack doesn't view it as them depending on him, he sees it as him just taking care of them.

If this character knew s/he had exactly one month to live, what would s/he do?
If he knew ahead of time that he only had a month, Jack would eat good food, sleep deeply, fuck with frantic passion, and then would say his goodbyes to everyone he loves. He'd be honest about it, but not until the very end so people would be prepared but wouldn't fret. And then he would throw the biggest party he could and he would dance with everyone.

How would a dear friend or relative describe this character?
Jack has been described by his friends as too caring, too selfish, too controlling, too rigid, and too fake. But he's devoted and loyal and he is always there for them and when he's with you, you are his whole world. Jack is like a force of nature.

What is this character’s most noticeable physical attribute?
His smile. Jack's smile has a language all it's own and even the slightest changes in the way it curves can speak volumes. Sometimes it's small, sometimes it's only half, sometimes it crinkles his eyes, and sometimes it is totally false. But it's always there.

What is this character hiding from him/herself?
Jack hides how much the disappearances hit him. He pushes it all down and ignores the hurt. He doesn't drink to excess, smoke himself blind, fuck to oblivion, or run, so now he just wills himself not to hurt. He throws himself into his work and his relationships and hides the fact that it kills him a little every time someone he loves just isn't here anymore. They're not even dead, they're just gone and he doesn't know where they could be. He feels like maybe if he'd held on they'd still be here and they wouldn't have been snatched away like his brother.

Write one additional thing about your character.
Of all the people who have vanished, Jack misses Ace most of all.
