Prior

Jack had a shadow. She was a tiny, white, enthusiastic shadow, but she was a shadow nonetheless. Wherever Jack went, Sugar followed. He'd decided she needed socialized and the neighbors were a good place to start. Plus, it was a good excuse to go visit people. People like Prior, who he rarely saw out and about since Mark vanished. Jack was concerned, but sometimes he wasn't sure just where the lines were when it came to butting in to other people's lives. It had been long enough that today he realized he didn't care whether it was overstepping or not. Today he simply went to the hut Maureen and Prior shared and knocked on the door.

Maureen wasn't home (and neither was Player), so it was just Prior and Little Sheba there in the hut when Jack stopped by. He'd been working on sewing a pillow (a housewarming present for Scotty, since he couldn't get the hideous Liza out of his head), and was already getting annoyed at the cat, who kept getting tangled up in his thread.

When he heard the knock, he toed Sheba away and pulled himself shakily to his feet, not bothering to get his cane for the short journey to the door.

He opened it, and blinked at Jack. "Oh! Hi, Jack."

Apparently Sheba noticed the puppy before he did, because he heard a hiss behind him.
