Jack led her back to the treehouse and up the three flights of stairs to his room. The air was warm and the windows were wide open, affording them a view of a fair portion of the island. Birds darted through the branches outside, flitting to the balcony railing but never coming in. There was no telling when the Doctor's dog would be in Jack's room eating his socks or sleeping on his pillow. Today, it was just him. And her. And the promise of stars.
