The hypervodka might have been just what she needed, but there was no way Jack was going to let her out of his sight. Not when she could barely walk. Not when she confessed to going numb. And definitely not when she was panicked over something so simple as a bite of food. He carried her away from the party, beads clacking and her gown making it easy to keep her curled in his arms. His place was the closer choice and he'd lost track of Logan, so if the guy showed up after the party...well, he'd worry about that if it happened.
