In the day he could forget. He could run and sweat and work and think about other things. It was the nights that got to him. He tried to do it alone, he really did, but in the darkness and moonlight and silence, he laid awake and stared at the ceiling and kept thinking about the future.

He thought about it until it made him itch.

He descended the stairs slowly, quietly, making his way to Greg's room. Maybe he'd actually get some sleep if he wasn't alone.

A smile touched House's lips as the kiss broke and he murmured his approval, thinking he might sleep better now himself.

He closed his eyes, his arm draped over Greg, holding on as he started to fall asleep. Just asleep enough to dream, he jerked in his sleep, moaning softly every time the bullets hit him, every time scenes of his future washed over him.

It was enough to wake House again, and he hesitated, not completely sure what to do... but it was bad, bad enough that he couldn't let it continue. "Jack," he whispered, shaking his softly. "Jack, wake up. It's okay, baby, just a dream..."

His eyes snapped open and Jack sat up, gasping in a deep breath as he gripped the sheets. It took him a second to realize where he was, and then he shook his head. Sleep wasn't worth it if it was going to be like that.

"Sorry," he said as his heart slowed down. "I can go."

"No," House said quietly, rubbing small circles over his back. "You don't have to go."

Jack rubbed his eyes and laid back down without a fight. "Okay."

House wasn't really sure what to say, so he just lay there was Jack for a few minutes, rubbing his back. "Is there... anything I can do?" he finally offered lamely.

House didn't hesitated, just pulled him closer and kissed him slowly, wondering in the back of his mind if he had horrible morning breath.

Jack was incredibly flexible, but he hadn't ever just melted like this. Every touch was so soft and even though he was hungry for more, he just couldn't take. "Don't stop," he whispered against Greg's lips.

His breath caught in his throat and he finally found the strength to reach up and tangle his fingers in Greg's hair. He lifted his chin and moaned softly, "God, yes..."

The way he touched sent warmth straight through Jack and he moaned again, softer this time.

The more Greg touched him, the more he wanted to be touched. To take everything Greg would give and then a little more. "I need you," he said, his gut twisting at the truth of the words.

House had the feeling that those were indeed more than just words for Jack. "Tell me what you need, Jack," he whispered.

"I don't know," he answered, breath coming faster. "I need you. I need...I don't know. Don't stop," he pleaded, reaching for him.

"I love you," House said, meeting his eyes, and then started to kiss his way down his body. Taking his time, savoring each sliver of skin. He was completely awake now.

"God...Greg," he moaned softly, arching up into each kiss. As he moved lower, Jack traced the smooth skin of his shoulders, then up his neck until he could cradle Greg's jaw. "Love you so much."

House made a small sound of agreement as he kissed along the curve of Jack's hip, hand splaying out on his inner thigh.

His hands fell to the side and gripped the sheets as he opened his legs. The need washed over him, making him whimper softly.
