Jack woke up in his own bed, in his own hut, with his own boyfriend pulled close. They'd had a shitty night, between both of them losing the election and Jack's raging jealousy over Greg's...whatever...with the Doctor.

But now the sun was up and Jack laid there, watching Greg sleep. Not for very long, though. It was only a few minutes before he leaned in and kissed him beneath the ear.

"I already made my choice," he replied quietly.

"I know you did," said House, "but you don't seem to believe that I did too."

Jack propped himself on an elbow to look down at him. There were so many things he wanted to say, but he'd agreed to let it drop.

"More like I can't believe it. Still. That you want me."

House sighed, looking tired again. "I... don't know what to do about that, Jack."

"...Don't quit on me," he whispered, leaning in to press his lips to Greg's shoulder.

"I'm not," House promised. "I just feel like such a shit, like I'm not making you happy."

Jack shifted, sliding closer, and draped his arm over Greg. "You make me happy. I love you. More than that, I like you."

"Mmmm well at least someone does."

"Do I make you happy?" he asked, drawing a circle with the tip of his tongue against bare skin. "At least sometimes..."

"Yes," House murmured, "and it's not about sex."

"I know," he lied.

"You're lying," sighed House.

Everybody lies.

"You're getting better at catching me," Jack replied. "So I don't know. If it's not about sex...the way I look...I don't know."

House just looked at him for a second, gaze even. "If that's what you really think, you're an idiot. Do you want me to prove it? Want to go, what, a month, a week without sex? Piece of cake."

"For you, maybe," he smirked. His hand roamed lightly up and down Greg's torso and he shook his head. "I'm not a doctor. Not a lawyer. What I can do, I can't do here. It's not like we just...talk. We could. I guess. Talk and not fight."

"I've told you things that I've never told anyone," House said. "And I'd... tell you more, if you asked. We talk more than you think we do, I think."

Jack stopped the motion of his hand and looked up into Greg's eyes. "What's your favorite color?"

House blinked. "I... don't know, blue I guess. You're really not going to pull this on me, are you? Who gives a shit what my favorite color is?"

"I give a shit what your favorite color is. And what you like to eat. And what music you like and what you're interested in reading and...and pizza and beer and wrestling and monster trucks and everything. I know how much we talk, Greg. I know a lot more than you'd think."

"See, you do know a lot," House said. "What music I like and pizza and beer and wrestling and monster trucks. You're the one who doesn't like to talk about your past, so I don't push you."

He slid an arm around Jack's waist. "But I do know what kind of music you like." And started to hum 'Night and Day' under his breath.

Jack closed his eyes and smiled, laying his head on Greg's chest. "If you really want to know, I'll tell you."

"I don't need to know," House said. "Your past doesn't matter to me."

"I didn't ask if you needed to know. Do you want to know?"

"Honestly? I'm not sure. It's not going to change my opinion of you, but I have a feeling you might think it's going to change my opinion of you and... I don't want you to get uncomfortable or feel bad about it."

Jack licked his lips and bought himself a little time, collecting his thoughts.

"I don't have parents," he said, finally. "When I told you I was made...I meant it. I was born in breeding facility 74-3R-Alpha."
