Jack woke up in his own bed, in his own hut, with his own boyfriend pulled close. They'd had a shitty night, between both of them losing the election and Jack's raging jealousy over Greg's...whatever...with the Doctor.

But now the sun was up and Jack laid there, watching Greg sleep. Not for very long, though. It was only a few minutes before he leaned in and kissed him beneath the ear.

"Honestly? I'm not sure. It's not going to change my opinion of you, but I have a feeling you might think it's going to change my opinion of you and... I don't want you to get uncomfortable or feel bad about it."

Jack licked his lips and bought himself a little time, collecting his thoughts.

"I don't have parents," he said, finally. "When I told you I was made...I meant it. I was born in breeding facility 74-3R-Alpha."

House didn't say anything to that, just nodded slowly.

"We, um, we were grouped by age, and later by developmental characteristics. I remember being moved from the child center to the Academy when I was...maybe six?"

"Did you..." House wasn't really sure what to ask. "Did you have fun? As a kid, I mean?"

"I trained," he said, thinking the question over. "I guess it was fun. I was really fucking competative. There wasn't any question I'd be a soldier. That's what I was raised for. The freedom came from getting to pick what kind of service. My best friend and I, I got him to join up with me to go to the front lines. Adventure of a lifetime. But we got captured and I watched them torture him to death. They took him just because I was stronger. They killed him and there was nothing I could do."

He took another breath and kept his voice even as he kept on. "So when I finally got back to my troop, I signed on for special duty. I started with recon, then went to interrogation. I was so good at it, the Time Agency noticed. Then I joined them."

House watched Jack's face change as he spoke, and wasn't really sure what to do. So he just listened, a hand on Jack's leg.

"So then I went through their training program. Learned so many languages. Customs. Cultures. Times and planets. All my other training made the seduction, evasion, and theft easy. Top of my class there, too. I did everything I was asked to do. Everything. And then...I don't know. Two years gone and I don't know," he shrugged."

"Then I went freelance. Conned whoever I could. Made a lot of money and got really used to being on my own. Taking care of myself. Leaving when shit got tough. And then I met Rose and everything just kind of...fell apart."

"And then you met the Doctor," House said quietly. "And then you died. And then you... came back." That part of the story, he knew.

"Right. So...now you know. I left out the really interesting stories. But, you know...gotta have something to tell you some other time."

"You know, I probably could have guessed the gist of that," House pointed out, and brushed his lips against Jack's neck. "Well. What do you want to know about me?"

"...Is that shot helping at all?"

House lifted an eyebrow. "I give you an open ended opportunity there and that's what you want to know? But... yeah, I think it helped." He put his hand on his thigh, bared down a little. "Better than lately anyway."

"That's all I care about right now, yeah," he grinned.

House's lips quirked up a little. "Well, okay then."

"Okay, then," he repeated, leaning in to kiss him softly.

House smiled a little against the kiss. "Are you sure you don't want me to prove how much I love you by going without sex?"

"I'll be sure to let Sanders know you were so high you were spouting nonsense," he laughed, kissing him again, then moving his lips along his jaw.

"Well, you know, just because..." House slid his hand a little farther up Jack's thigh. "Just because I've had the best sex of my life with you, I don't want you to think that's why I love you."

Jack groaned softly and eased his legs apart, kisses trailing down Greg's neck. "Good to know," he whispered, pushing his hand just inside Greg's waistband.

"Just because..." House continued, arching his neck a little. "Just because I can hardly see you without getting hard, just because your ass is like the holy grail, just because you're so fucking gorgeous, you make me feel so fucking good, I don't want you to think that's why I love you."

"Of course," he murmured, nipping at Greg's throat as fingers teased lightly against wiry soft hair. "Wouldn't dare think it..."

"I love you for reasons that have nothing to do with those sexy little sounds you make," House continued, gasping a little. "Nothing to do with the way you say my name, the way you feel underneath me, the way you seem to know just how to touch me to make me come slow or fast."

He really hadn't been in the mood for sex earlier. But there was something about Jack, he wasn't sure he'd ever be able to turn him down for long.
