"Relax. There's no danger here," he said as he slipped his arm around Logan and looked aroudn the control room. He finally lifted his hand and pointed to one end where an array of wires and tubed hung uselessly.
"It was The Controller. She was a human interface and she sent a strong enough signal to transmat the Doctor and Rose and I here. This place is the Game Station. 500 levels of game shows and television entertainment. The thing was, behind it all was the Dalek Emporer, using the bodies of the losers to grow a new army of Daleks. By the time we faced them, there were millions. It was certain death.
The Doctor was making a Delta Wave, which would have killed everyone. In the middle of it, he sent Rose home in the TARDIS so she'd be safe, but she came back. I'd gone off to lead the volunteers, but all we had were security weapson with rubber bullets. Once the Daleks entered the station, we figured they'd go up to sttack the Doctor...they went down. They killed all the people who we'd secured below. Then they came back up. We lost level after level until I was the only one left.
Rose, she didn't want to be sent back, so she managed to crack the TARDIS control panel open and looked into the Heart. And she came back...but she wasn't herself. I was dead when she returned and what happened was...well...she was possessed with the power of the time vortex. She controlled all of time and space. She took the Daleks apart at the atomic level, brought me back to life, and then the Doctor had to cure her of it before she died. He took the time vortex out and that's why he looks like he does on the island instead of the one I traveled with. He fixed her and they left. And I...I got left here."
He took a moment to see just how full of shit they thought he was, then smiled broadly.
