[for ianto and daniel] Wednesday Sept. 19
Sep. 20th, 2007 10:57 pmJack took the bucket and left House and Wilson together in the rec room. He made good on his suggestion, finding his way to Ianto's hut easily in the twilight. It really was magic because by the time he got there, not only had none of the ice melted, there were a few more beers than there had been before.
He knocked on the door and waited, hoping it was still early enough he wasn't interrupting anything. And hey, if he was, he had a peace offering.

Date: 2007-09-23 07:53 pm (UTC)There were no windows, but hours later, light began to grow brighter behind the rice paper screens. Jack rolled over, burying his face against Ianto's chest and draping his arm over his waist, fingers moving slow and soft against bare skin just above a waistband. He was still on the edge of sleep, still half-dreaming. Jack had grown accustomed to how mornings went and reacted almost by muscle memory, his lips moving softly along bare skin, his hand sliding lower, over fabric, to cup the firm swell of muscle.
"Wake up," he whispered, not even awake, himself.

Date: 2007-09-23 09:06 pm (UTC)Jack gasped and raised his head, seeking lips, seeking along a hard jaw that was...remarkably smooth, relatively...fingers digging into an ass that was strangely different in his palm. "Jesus, Greg, harder," he groaned, his hips rolling forward, teeth nipping at the lower lip he found by touch alone.

Date: 2007-09-23 10:51 pm (UTC)It wasn't until a few moments had passed that the words actually filtered into his brain and he opened his eyes. And then stilled completely in shock. "Oh shit," he breathed quietly.

Date: 2007-09-23 10:58 pm (UTC)"What?" he asked, exhaustion clear in his voice.

Date: 2007-09-23 11:04 pm (UTC)Not...like this.

Date: 2007-09-23 11:13 pm (UTC)He was stunned into silence and stillness, not sure of what to do. His brain refused to work beyond the purely sensory input it was receiving, and that was overwhelming.

Date: 2007-09-23 11:22 pm (UTC)"What is it?" he asked again, fingers hovering as a promise of what would come when he got an answer.

Date: 2007-09-23 11:28 pm (UTC)So much could be said with just a glance and the look in the man's eyes was more than enough for Jack to understand. Regardless of how he felt at the moment, he loved Ianto and wasn't going to do anything to jeapordize anything for him. He didn't want to stop...not even a little. But what he wanted wasn't what mattered.
His hand came up and caught Daniel's wrist, stopping the nails, breaking the promise. "Stop," he said clearly, pulling his hips away, falling from Ianto's grip.

Date: 2007-09-23 11:34 pm (UTC)Ianto pulled his hand back to himself, shutting his eyes and turning his head slightly into the pillow. After a moment, he reached back and rested his hand on Daniel's hip, holding him so he couldn't move, in case he somehow couldn't get the picture from Jack's voice.
The sooner this ended, the sooner the awkwardness would be over. Even though he was still surrounded by pure heat and would have wanted to continue, it was Daniel's reaction that he feared.

Date: 2007-09-23 11:56 pm (UTC)That didn't mean that he wanted this and he knew that Jack was with Greg, but...Daniel couldn't get that moan out of his head. The anger wasn't gone, but he desperately needed a way to get over it. And then there was the question of Ianto. Would it make him even more jealous? Would Ianto even want to continue? Clearly, he'd stopped, but Daniel wasn't sure why. He hadn't done anything until after Jack had stopped him.
Finally, he gave up questioning everything. Leaving his hand in Jack's grasp, he said, "I still don't know if I like you." The tone was a complex mix of confusion, desire, frustration, and an inherent question, all focused toward Ianto and, hopefully, mostly unreadable by Jack. What do you want? was the question, coupled with an I'm willing, I think.

He rolled away more, onto his back, and looked at a spherical lantern hanging from the ceiling. What if it was something one of them...no. They'd all been asleep. But what if...he was too bleary to contemplate all the options. And yet, he had to ask.
"Is this my fault, too?"

Date: 2007-09-24 12:56 am (UTC)If Daniel were trying to read something from Ianto's expression though, he would have been mostly unsuccessful, and not because Ianto was trying to hide anything. There were so many thoughts and emotions and sensations swimming around in his only mostly conscious brain that Ianto wasn't quite sure how he felt, but couldn't see anything terrible stopping them if Daniel wanted to.
It was one thing to shag anyone, but Ianto could keep a secret, and so could Daniel. If Jack was willing to keep another.
"I.. don't think so," Ianto responded carefully, his eyes still on Daniel, a mix of pure physical desire and confusion. No uncertainty, not from him. Ianto would do whatever Daniel and Jack wanted to do. He simply did not know for certain what that was.

Date: 2007-09-24 01:14 am (UTC)"I also don't know if I still dislike you," Daniel said firmly. He kept Ianto's gaze for a moment longer, leaning into the hand on his back. "And of course you didn't do this. None of us did this. It we had, none of us would have stopped, would we? But, then, someone clearly did and you made sure I stopped, even though you clearly wanted...something."
He took a deep breath. This was the part that had to come from him. He knew that. After a moment, he said, "The question is, do you still want it?"
He let go of Ianto's face and kept his toward Jack, revealing the fact that, for better or worse, he'd made his decision.

Date: 2007-09-24 01:49 am (UTC)What the fuck had happened to him? He was in bed with two absolutely gorgeous men who were both willing to continue. And he...he...had been the one to say stop. He had never had a problem falling into bed and losing himself in the moment, enjoying people entirely. But now he'd agreed, which was tantamount to promising, Greg that he would be faithful to him. Greg. Who had gone to bed with Wilson. And that was his fault.
It was painfully apparent that Jack was lost. He had no direction, no idea what was right, whether he should do what he desperately wanted, or if he should leave. You run the second there's trouble. That's what you do, Jack. He didn't have any orders for this, and Daniel...this wasn't like Ace.
"Yeah," he replied hesitantly, not moving any closer. What he really wanted was more of exactly what had been happening, but he couldn't stop wondering if he'd regret it just as Ianto had said he would last night if he'd gone to find someone else. What he wanted, if he were honest, was just to have someone tell him what was right.

Date: 2007-09-24 02:13 am (UTC)The corner of Ianto's mouth quirked, not a smile and not a frown but a tight sign of thought. Leaning forward, he cradled the side of Jack's face gently and kissed him, soft and sweet and natural, undemanding. It was a kiss to show Jack that Ianto loved him, and that was all. For the moment. He pulled away slowly but stayed close, just far enough that he could look into Jack's eyes.
"This is about what you want," he said quietly. "If you want to go find House, I'll-- we'll still be here. For you. And if you want to keep this from House, I'll follow your lead." Here he glanced towards Daniel, tilting his head just slightly. He couldn't answer for Daniel on that point, but he really didn't think Daniel would hunt down some man he didn't know to reveal any secrets. Ianto refocused on Jack. "If you want to do this, we'll do this. But don't just do it because you don't know what else to do."

Date: 2007-09-24 02:30 am (UTC)"Jack. The way I see it, you have three options. We could go get Greg for you or you could go find him. The three of us could do nothing. The same options as last night." He took a breath. "And now there's the third option. But Ianto's right. We can't tell you what to do because you're the best judge of what's likely to happen. In the end, do the best thing you can do. The thing you want the most that will hurt the least."
Daniel didn't say hurt at all. At this point, he didn't think that was possible. For any of them. "But Ianto's right. I won't say a word if you don't want me to."
He hoped that his words would sooth the confused military man in Jack long enough to come to a coherent decision. Logic always seemed the best way to start, even when it ended up in the heart.
