Would this shit ever end? First Adria and Daniel, then Ace and Jamie, and now...now he had to go find Ace since she'd said goodbye and run off. Jack knew her enough to know that if she'd be anywhere, she'd be in dino territory, thinking she could handle it herself.

He came back from the clinic with the nanos and laid them on the bed, then started to get dressed in his leathers. He'd get the guns ready last, then head out. Jamie could take care of the regular jungle.

Jack would find Ace.

House walked in not long behind him, and immediately recognized the look on Jack's face. His eyes flickered from the face to the gear. Great.

"Someone lost in dino country?"

"Ace," he replied tightly, pulling on his vest and slipping extra ammo into the pockets. "Probably won't be back tonight. Won't be back til I find her, dead or alive, actually," he added.

"Ace." House frowned. "Not the first time she's run off, is it?"

"No. Not the first time it's been my fault, either," he said. The rifle went over his shoulder, then he busied himself putting a strap on the nano tube.

"Your fault?" House frowned more. "How is it your fault?"

"She came here after...yesterday. Something happened and I said all the wrong things," he said, his words clipped and tight as the muscles in his arms and shoulders. "I fucked it up, I'll fix it."
