True to his word, Jack was in House's bed that night. He was late, waiting until well after dark before returning. He left his coat by the door and slipped into Greg's room and stripped, sliding into bed with him.

"You know I'm a jackass sometimes, right?" House murmured, stilling running his fingers over Jack's skin. "You knew that going into this. But I would never do anything to purposely hurt you."

"I'm not just going to take it when you're a jackass, Greg," he whispered, kissing the hollow of his throat. "I'm gonna call you on it."

"You can call me on it all you want," House murmured. "Just know that this is... a lot, for me. The way I am with you. It had been years since I'd opened up to anyone at all, and I'm amazed I even wanted to do it again after what happened with James..."
