Jack led him from the beach back to the treehouse, his hands tracing the delicate structure of his body. His skin was so pale and so soft, like his sisters...not that Jack would tell him that.

He likely knew anyhow.

It was a bit of a walk, but once at the Treehouse, Jack took him up the stairs to his room. The shutters were open wide and the mild breeze blew the thin curtains as Jack closed the door behind him. Moments later he wrapped his arms around the man from behind and pressed his lips to his back.

"Let me adore you," he said softly.

Since Dream was still sitting up, he pulled Jack up with him, sitting behind him, arms around Jack from behind, the gorgeous naked man practically in his lap.

He reached around and slowly started to stroke Jack's cock with one hand, and then he whispered, "Beautiful," into his ear and gently stroked his hair away from his face.

He whimpered softly and leaned back against Dream, control slipping away now that he couldn't ignore his arousal. "Ohh," he exhaled, head falling back onto Dream's shoulder.

Dream continued to stroke Jack's hair and murmur soft, comforting things as he pulled him off with a deft hand.

He did, after all, remember the good dreams too.

He breathed harder, not bothering to stop his hips from driving into that skilled hand. Breathe...just breathe...it was so surreal, like he'd done this a hundred times. A thousand. More. Dream knew. He just knew.

Jack arched back into him, whimpers blossoming into low moans as tears began to spill down his cheeks for no reason he understood.

Dream just kept going, occasionally pressing soft kisses to Jack's neck, his jaw.

The only sound was his breathing until it hitched and stopped and then there wasn't any sound at all. When he came, he stiffened against Dream and as it passed he let go one broken sob before turning his head to seek his mouth...fully expecting him to just disappear.

Dream kissed him, wrapping an arm tightly around him. He hoped he'd done what Jack needed.

Jack shivered and swallowed hard, trying to keep some semblance of control. "How...how did you know?" he asked, realizing as soon as he'd said it that he already knew the answer.

"It's not only the bad things I see," Dream said softly. "Otherwise, how could I be sane?" He'd be worse off than his sister if his Realm was all nightmares.

"I...I'm sorry," he whispered, wiping his face with the heel of his hand. "I didn't expect, I mean it was just..."

What could he really say to someone who knew about his dreams like that? He was terrified and enamoured and mostly confused.

Dream smiled a little and wiped away a remaining tear with his thumb. "You're welcome. I was concerned you might find it too intrusive."

Jack shook his head a little then turned and kissed him again. "I think that you can still shape the world," he purred. "No one has ever done anything like that...and I've had more lovers than most people can count."

Dream practically glowed at that.

"Then that," he said, "is precisely what I needed." And he kissed Jack again.

He sighed happily and leaned back into Dream's arms, closing his eyes. "Good. That's all I wanted."

"I can stay here for a while if you like," Dream said, "or I can go."

"I really don't know," he replied quietly. "The thing about dreams is you always wake up...and sometimes the god ones ache more than the nightmares."

"Yes," Dream agreed, "but you can't summon the good or bad ones at will, either. Whereas I live in the compound with my sister and you can come find me anytime."

That earned him a small huff of a laugh and Jack rubbed the arm that was around him. "Death. I know her bedroom," he nodded, his tone indicating more than just a general knowledge.

Dream lifted an eyebrow at that, and then sighed. "My sister. Sometimes I feel I hardly know her now. This sort of thing - " He gestured to their naked bodies. "Was commonplace for me. Not for her."

"Yeah, we talked. She had a hard time when she arrived. Too many things to adjust to that one day never prepared her for. I thought she was dumb when we first met, then I really listened to her in the sex education class and...she's just so new."

"And I suppose you don't get that impression from me?" Dream inquired, quirking a smile. "She is my older sister, after all."

"You've dealt with the living," Jack shrugged. "Death...didn't. And from what she said, she didn't really talk to the dead all that long. Most of the people here are good, but she..." he turned his head to look back and up at him, "...do you really want to know this?"
