Maybe it was a fetish, but Jack hated labels of all sorts. He just knew what he liked. Too bad for the universe that what he liked amounted to pretty much everything. He'd left the compound and made his way back to his hut with Logan, covertly keeping tabs on how the guy handled breathing the cold air. Cold air wasn't a problem inside. The strange, round hut was warm and dry. Dulcita lay curled on an old shirt of Jack's near the fire and mewed at the pair when they came in, demanding the food she'd been promised.

It wasn't a change in temperature so much as a change in the weight of woven threads holding him in and holding him back. His chinos were growing tighter with every brush of Logan's fingers against his body and he felt like he was practically being strangled downstairs by the pants he'd put on today in the desperate hope that another layer would keep his ass from freezing.

Date: 2008-12-14 09:27 pm (UTC)"I notice," he replied, his voice hushed thanks to the closeness. "When you're nervous. When you have something you don't want to say. When you're thinking. Watching you...you're amazing." And he really was--a thousand cues of posture and action...Jack could just watch him for hours on end.

Date: 2008-12-14 10:00 pm (UTC)"I prefer the way you stand," he admitted as he sat down heavily on the edge of the bed, letting go of Jack's shirt and starting to unfasten his trousers. "You always look like you're in control of the situation. Even when there isn't a situation to control. ...Even when you aren't in control of anything at all."
no subject
Date: 2008-12-14 10:54 pm (UTC)"Everything's about control," he said, the words coming before he'd consciously chosen to speak. "Most of it is self-control. Discipline like that takes work...people here have no idea just how much I hold back. Everyday."
Except when John was here. In certain areas of his life, there had been almost zero control and it had been intoxicating.

Date: 2008-12-15 01:27 am (UTC)With the zip undone, he slipped his hand inside the other man's trousers, rubbing him gently as he spoke.
"I hate control, I hate being controlled and I hate trying to control myself. It's too hard. Too much like work. I don't ever think, I just... do, you know?"

Date: 2008-12-15 05:06 am (UTC)Despite what it may appear like to other people, Jack did almost nothing spontaneously. On the rare occasions he did, he was making plans and adapting them as a situation unfolded. If he couldn't control anything else, he could control himself and he'd found, through years of experience, that by doing just that, he often wound up with control over the majority of a situation simply because he acted as if he had the right to it.
And then there were the times, the thrilling and terrifying times, when he had no control, no plans, and no idea what he'd do next. This place...he struggled for every snatch of control he could manage because he knew that at any moment things could go completely sideways.
"...Don't know how you do it..." he admitted.

Date: 2008-12-15 05:32 am (UTC)"We should trade secrets," he laughed softly. "You can teach me about control, and I'll teach you how to not give a shit."
His hands came to rest lightly on the other man's hips, and he looked up with a small smile. Sometimes it was so easy just to be with the other man. So easy that it almost worried him. He was settling in, and that would never end well for him. Never in a million years.

Date: 2008-12-15 05:51 am (UTC)Jack radiated heat, and every touch was electric. Logan couldn't understand it really, but every time he was with the other man, he felt buzzed. Even when they were simply touching, there was something about Jack that got him going. Something about the other man's touch that made him want so much more.
no subject
Date: 2008-12-15 06:31 am (UTC)It was electric, the way it felt every time he was close like this. It was like if he could just get a fraction closer, hold him tighter, kiss him deeper, then maybe for a moment he could understand how it felt to be like that. To just let go and...not give a shit.
He never quite seemed to get there.

Date: 2008-12-15 11:24 am (UTC)Silently he found himself wondering just how much Jack planned. If the other man could somehow predict his every action to plan out their time together. And if so, what exactly did he have in store for them in the long run? It seemed almost sad to think Jack knew. After all, wasn't half of the fun not knowing?
He seemed thoughtful as he opened his eyes again, dragging his nails slowly down the other man's back. Little details and actions that attempted to break away from what might be expected.

Date: 2008-12-15 11:47 am (UTC)"Do something," he whispered. "Go for it. Teach me something."
He made a valiant attempt to simply float, to simply go along with whatever happened, but he was already thinking through dozens of if he...then I... plans.

Date: 2008-12-15 12:11 pm (UTC)His instinct was to go with the obvious. To grab Jack roughly and roll them over. But there was nothing unusual about that. It was rare that Logan didn't struggle for dominance, and the other man would see it coming from a mile away.
There were strange fetishes to explore, but Logan was no where near as creative as Jack when it came to that sort of thing. His own sexual history was beyond Vanilla when compared to the other man's, and there was nothing he could think of that Jack probably hadn't thought of himself.
No, it had to be more personal than that.
Grinning, it came to him slowly, and he pulled away from the other man with a soft smile. "Fine, get up, get dressed, we're gonna do something different," he decided. "We're going to start over. Just for today. You're going to pretend you don't know a damn thing about me, and I'm going to pretend that simply looking at you don't make me hard. ...And you're going to win me over and get me into bed. And you know why it'll be fun? Because every little plan of yours just won't work this time. Everything you think I like and want? It's all different now, and all you'll be able to do is guess."
Leaning in again, he kissed his way up Jack's jaw one more time, knowing it would likely be a long wait before he could do it again. "We can play it however you want. You can be pushy or subtle... You can be mean or nice, just don't think. Do. Treat me like a mission you weren't prepared for. No intel, just one simple goal, getting us back into bed. Nothing you'll do will be wrong, Jack, just promise me you won't over think any of it."
Pulling away again, Logan got to his feet and began to dress. "I'll be in my hut, don't wait too long to come find me. I might surprise you and invite someone else in if you take too long," he teased.

Date: 2008-12-15 12:25 pm (UTC)"I'll give you enough time to get there," he replied as he moved to retrieve his clothes. A mission he wasn't prepared for. Logan had no idea how apt a description that was, at least for this part. For even agreeing to try. He'd never seen anything like this happening.
He was obviously conflicted, trying to think things through and alternately struggling to not think at all. He hadn't been this off since...well, probably not since Tosh had told him the baby's name. And before that...he couldn't even remember.
The goal was to get Logan in bed by any means necessary. That was a mission he'd run thousands of times. Trying to do it without his usual arsenal of observation, attention, and charm would make it interesting, to say the least.
"Go. I promise I'll try," said as he began to button his shirt. "I'll be there."

Date: 2008-12-15 12:40 pm (UTC)It was a long walk from Jack's to the Hamlet, and Logan was shivering as he stepped inside. That didn't stop him from undressing though, putting away his things and changing into something he rarely ever wore. He had one set of dress pants, crisp and black and better fitting than any of the jeans he owned. Those pants and a crisp button down shirt, and Logan already looked like a different man. Next came a pair of black socks and his new pea-coat and a pair of simple black boots, and he was back out in the snow, letting Linus out for a run and peering down the path.
When he saw what looked like Jack heading his way, he quickly ducked back inside, not bothering to shed his coat yet as he waited to see what would happen.

Date: 2008-12-15 12:57 pm (UTC)"I didn't know I was going to have company on this," he said, warm and friendly as he held out his hand. "Captain Jack Harkness."
He was fighting every impulse to go with what he knew. Fighting what he knew of Logan. Fighting what he knew of almost everything...even the Handbook. The Agency dogma had never failed before, but casting all that aside was what this was supposed to be about, right? No thinking, just doing.
That was practically impossible.
It was uncanny just how easily he stepped back into the skin of a Time Agent. He could be anything and anyone. He'd had a near perfect track record with his missions, regardless of how much or how little intel he had going in. Try as he might, there was no shutting that down entirely and so, when faced with something he didn't know, he reverted to the most comfortable possible default.
A man Logan had never really met.

Date: 2008-12-15 01:06 pm (UTC)"Logan," he replied simply, not offering a last name as he looked the other man over, taking him in as if he'd never laid eyes on him before in his life. Though rather than step closer like he usually would, or flashing that cocky grin, he let his hand drop back to his side as he turned away and shrugged off his coat, making no effort at all to make small talk with the other man.
"You're late," he added as he headed over to the table and sat down. "There's hot water in that pan on the heater if you want tea or something."
And that was it, a moment later and his attention was on the book he'd been reading, Jack forgotten as he forced himself to focus on the story rather than the other man.

Date: 2008-12-15 01:16 pm (UTC)"I met someone on the way here," he replied smoothly, the doublespeak he'd relied on with other agents coming to his lips without even thinking. "But I'm not that late. You hadn't even taken off your coat, and your hair's still got snow in it. What...you got here a few minutes before me?"
Jack chuckled as he pulled off the greatcoat and laid it over the chair, then went for the pan. After the cold, the tea actually sounded more appealing than seduction.

Date: 2008-12-15 01:25 pm (UTC)He could hear Jack over by the stove, and he glanced up briefly as he spoke. "I take mine with two bags," he said, nodding at the handful of tea bags he'd pinched from the kitchen and making it clear he expected Jack to make him a cup also.
no subject
Date: 2008-12-15 01:31 pm (UTC)"What are you reading?" he asked, ignoring the book entirely as he devoted all his attention to the other man's face. His gaze was heavy, weighted with charm and danger. Only an idiot would assume Jack was as completely friendly as he was showing. Hell, just because a dog wagged its tail didn't mean it wouldn't tear your throat out.
no subject
Date: 2008-12-15 01:40 pm (UTC)Usually he would have been touching Jack by now, kissing him and searching for more attention...
Now all he really wanted to do was challenge him, to see how hard he could push without starting a brawl. His attitude carefully checked in a way he didn't usually bother with. "You know, when I told you how I take my tea, I wasn't making small talk or even a request, I was telling you to make me a cup. Why don't you get up and try again? Or was carrying two cups just too difficult? ...Late and simple, that is a disappointment."

Date: 2008-12-15 01:50 pm (UTC)Now this...this was too easy. With Logan showing more control than he'd ever seen, it was easy to forget about reading him, anticipating what might come, and to simply go with his gut. The only thing that was unnatural was the fact that he was unarmed. If he'd been armed then this whole exchange could have taken place in any room on almost any world in the universe at any point in his life since before he'd turned twenty.
His eyes remained on Logan and the smirk coupled with the gleam in his eyes made him look positively predatory. He took a small sip of the hot brew and then reached out to set the cup next to the book.
"I'm not here to serve you."
no subject
Date: 2008-12-15 01:56 pm (UTC)Logan's own behavior wasn't all that unfamiliar either, though it wasn't anything like the way he usually behaved around Jack. It was more like... acting. Not unlike the way he'd behaved at school when he'd known teachers and staff were watching him. A carefully placed mask that had served him well for years before arriving on the island.

Date: 2008-12-15 02:02 pm (UTC)"By all means, help yourself. I wasn't going to drink that or anything," Jack continued. Having total freedom to accomplish his 'mission' made this all the more exciting and all the more dangerous, although Jack would be hard pressed to say for who.
