Jack grinned and looked through the selection. There was more than enough to have a little fun...or a lot of fun. He picked out a few bars of chocolate, a handful of jawbreakers, kicking back what he was certain was gum, and grabbed a peppermint candy that looked more appropriate for Christmas than Halloween.

"Go in the bedroom. Take off your clothes, and get comfortable. I'll be in in a minute," he said.

Jack hit the floor and in a flash was behind Logan, his arm snaking around the man's middle and jerking him back against Jack's chest.

"You're too much," he laughed, lifting him off the floor and hauling him toward the door. "How about if I toss you out in the snow, smart ass?"

Logan flailed a little as Jack lifted him, laughing loudly and fighting to get away. "Son of a- You wouldn't," he insisted, kicking and twisting and trying not to start laughing again. "I nearly died in the snow, you can't throw me out there while I'm naked, not unless you want to spend the next two days counting my fingers and toes again!"

"You're really not talking me out of it. I liked counting your fingers," Jack replied, laughing harder. He made it to the door and fumbled with it to get it open as he tried not to drop Logan. At that second, he didn't give a shit if whitewashing the guy meant he'd get it too.

"Nonononono-" Logan chanted, elbowing Jack as he tried to twist free, kicking again as the laughing started to fade and actual worry set in. "No seriously, Jack, don't. Please, it's really fucking cold out man," he begged, shivering before the door even swung open.

"I'm way more fun when I'm warm."

They were too close to the door and with his laughter and Logan's struggling, Jack wound up letting him go and pushing him into the door with his body weight. His laughter faded slowly and he rested his chin on Logan's shoulder.

"Okay. I'll spare you this time," he said, then added, "Surprise."

"Bastard," Logan replied softly, though there was no anger in his tone. Nothing cold or unloving. It was almost tender, and he wrapped his arms around the other man despite the sticky mess.

"You know if you had thrown me out there, I would have gotten you back, right? You'd have woken up tied to your bed with a snowman riding your cock," he threatened.

Jack snorted and laughed, shaking as he kissed Logan back. When he pulled away, he flashed a supernova smile and his eyes flashed with pride.

"I'd expect nothing less. As long as he's riding my cock and not the other way around..."

"You'll get fucked by lollipops but not snowmen?" Logan asked, quirking a brow and then ducking past the other man to fetch the water and washcloths.

"I'm gonna heat up some of the water so it isn't freezing," he added, dragging the bucket over to the stove, and filling the large pot.

"Lollipops aren't cold," Jack shrugged, as if that justified it. "Plus, they melt and, gotta say, there's a few things, not many, but a few, that' I'm just not into. Tried them...don't need to do it again."

"Do I even want to know how you know you're not into having ice shoved up there?" Logan asked with a soft laugh, filling the spare pot as well and hoping that two big pots full of boiling water would be enough to make the whole bucket at least warm.

"I'm going to say no, even if you said you wanted to know everything," he said lightly. "I've got to keep some secrets. Trust me. I do it for your own good."

Standing near the fire, Logan laughed again as he turned to look at Jack once more, beckoning him closer.

"For my own good," he replied, agreeing for a change.

He sauntered over, the typical way he walked accentuated thanks to the lack of clothes. He let his tongue glide along his teeth slowly as he took in the sight of the man.

"Unless you'd really like to know," he teased. "I know you don't like me treating you like you're fragile. There was this woman, see..."

"Well of course there was, wouldn't be one of your stories if there wasn't someone," Logan teased in return, running his hand down Jack's chest, and then turning around so he could lean back against the other man. "Let me guess. She was beautiful. No, wait, gorgeous. This sounds like one of those stories where she'll be gorgeous."

"Well, she had tentacles and these flaps that were sort of like wings," he said, tilting his head up as he pretended to struggle with recollection. "She had a really pretty eye..."

"...Tentacles?" Logan asked, squirming, though this time not in pleasure. "Okay, no, I... I don't think I want to know. I don't even want to start to think about that I don't think. Baby steps, okay? That's a little too much for me."

Jack smiled wide, betraying the validity of the story. "It was a squid thing," he laughed. "It was a pet, and I don't do pets. I'm just fucking with you. She was gorgeous. Totally human. Mostly."

"That... That is a huge relief, Jack," Logan admitted, relaxing a little as he leaned against the other man again, watching the water begin to boil.

"I was starting to worry I'd be fighting marine life off to keep your attention. I don't think I could take one of those squids in a fight."

"They aren't easy to take. Were you on the beach that time? I got hit hard. Had these rings across my chest and side," he explained. "It finally got blown up. It's that sort of thing the ITF is for...so there isn't complete chaos."

"No that's a disaster I managed to avoid," Logan replied. "Actually, other than the whole nearly freezing to death thing, and that one time I woke up in dino territory? I actually haven't had that many island related problems."

Of course, he was ignoring the whole thing that had happened with Aaron, still silently convinced that was his own doing. Not the island's.

The water bubbled, and Logan used a towel to move the pans, mixing the boiling water with the water that was still in the bucket. Dipping his fingers in, he smiled a little and grabbed one of the cloths. "It;s not too hot, but it's nice and warm now," he said, soaking the washcloth and then standing again, starting between Jack's shoulders and slowly working his way down.

"Lucky," Jack said softly. He rounded his back, shoulders rolled forward, and groaned softly when Logan began on his back. It felt better than he wanted to admit and reminded him way too much of another person in another time.

"I've never woken up in dino territory. I'm always on rescue duty. We blew one up once with some Nitro Nine. Too bad, but it couldn't be helped. And there was the squid, and Adria, and the caves. There was the time the dinos got out and we had to round them up and herd them back...and the clean up of the ones that died. Man, maybe you're right. May I do do a lot."

"Too much," Logan replied, the cloth moving lower as he gently rubbed away every last trace of what they'd done, leaving Jack's skin warm and damp. "But if it makes you happy... Well, that's what matters, right? And as long as you always come back in one piece, I think it's pretty alright."

He paused, leaning in to press his lips to freshly scrubbed skin, letting out a small sigh before speaking again.

"And you better always come back."

"I always come back," he assured Logan. "I've hardly even gotten really hurt. Just...that one time."

That one time. Catherine would have something to say if she'd been here and heard him, even after all this time, talk around that weekend so long ago. And really, he should be okay. He should. Considering all he'd done with John. With Logan. even things with the Doctor. But with all of them, he had trust to varying degrees. The weekend in the caves had shown him how vulnerable even he could be if he didn't keep his guard up.

"I promise," he continued after a noticeable silence.

"One time is really one time too many," Logan replied quietly, moving the cloth lower and hesitating before starting to wash Jack's more intimate areas.

His other arm wrapped loosely around Jack's middle, and he held the other man as he scrubbed him, inhaling that scent that was so distinctively Jack.

"I love you," he said, knowing he'd said it a thousand times already that afternoon, but struggling to bite it back this time, "I know I do these fucked up things. I don't even know why sometimes. This stuff I never even thought of doing before we met. But when I do it... you know it's not to hurt you, right? You know I'd stop. If you asked, I'd stop. I'll always stop."

"I know, Logan," he replied softly, gasping a little as he spread his legs a little. His reaction to the touch was quick, his cock twitching every time Logan so much as brushed him.
