Jack got up and followed Logan inside, watching how he moved. He was fixated on Logan's ass as he walked but he watched the play of muscle under the skin of his back and the way his shoulders moved, too. There had been a time when Jack's attention had been fleeting and he'd bounced from one beautiful body to the next. Yet it didn't strike him as odd at all that he found his husband ridiculously attractive. his attention had never wandered from him. In Jack's eyes Logan was perfect, flaws and scars and all.

He closed the door and locked it then hurried to catch up so he could slip an arm around Logan's waist and pull him to a stop. He leaned in so he could kiss the back of the man's neck.

"Do you know how incredibly sexy you are?"

"Shut up," Logan laughed, leaning back against Jack and tipping his head to the side with a sigh.

"You're perfect," he admitted with a sigh. "Everything about you, man. It's perfect. The way you look, the way you are, the way you get me. You're perfect. Sometimes that still pisses me off- but I love it."

"I am pretty amazing, aren't I?" he whispered, busy working his way along Logan's offered neck. He smelled so good and tasted even better. Jack couldn't get over how much he loved the taste of the man lingering on his lips.

He slowly trailed his hand down Logan's arm and then grabbed the boy's wrist and held it tightly.

"You need to walk. To the bedroom. Now," he ordered, unwilling to let Logan get away- they needed to move as a unit.

Logan gasped, then struggled hard out of habit. For a moment he wasn't a father or an adult. He was Logan Echolls. Reckless and wild as he fought and growled.

"Don't tell me what to do. You're not in charge of everything," he protested, catching Jack's in the chest with his elbow.

Jack coughed sharply but he didn't let go. Instead, he held on tighter to grapple with the fighting man.

"I'm in charge of everything right now," he replied. "Move, or I'll have to kick your ass."

Part of him thought that might be good. It might be more helpful than simply falling in bed. It would be like old times and that...that aroused him more than the promise of a simple day in bed.

Logan didn't cooperate, he rarely ever did, and he squirmed and bucked with a growl.

"Kick my ass? I'll kick your ass, old man. Get off me, come on!" he challenged.

"You're high. You can't kick my ass," Jack snorted, but he let Logan go anyway. A fight was just as fun as fucking and was better foreplay than just rubbing against one another.

"Show me what you think you can do," he said, baiting Logan.

He wouldn't win. Deep down he knew that, yet it didn't stop him. He didn't even pause.

Without warning he lashed out at the man, throwing himself at him and taking a sloppy swing at his chest.

Jack automatically went on the defensive. He'd fought with Logan enough to know it was a good idea to let the kid wear himself out a little. As long as he didn't catch Jack's jaw it would be fine. He could handle it.

"Is that it? You're losing all the skills I've taught you," he said, giving Logan a shove just to rile him up.

"You never let me practice anymore," Logan countered, swinging again. "You stopped teaching me. Stopped training me. Everything fun stopped when we had Joe. I hate it sometimes. Hate it."

The words hurt a little. So much had changed since they'd had Joe. Jack wouldn't trade the Princess for anything but Logan was right. Everything had changed when she arrived. Everything had stopped. They couldn't live the way they'd lived before.

"Practice now," he taunted, rubbing his ribs where Logan's fist had clashed with his body. He wanted to know, it was some morbid curiosity, but he wanted to know what else Logan might admit to.

Logan swung again, then again and again, each hit weaker than the last.

"I hate her sometimes, and then I hate myself, 'cause she's my world. She's my baby," he said, breaking down as he confessed. "I just want things to be how they were. I want my friends back. I want my family back. I want you back!"

His heart broke a little ad he stepped in closer. Everything in him made him want to reach out and pull Logan in an hold him.

He resisted the urge and doubled his fist and sucker punched Logan's unprotected midsection.

"You've got me," he growled. "All of me."

Logan doubled over, breathless and swearing as he tried to recover. He couldn't though, his chest still ached from swallowing water, and he crumpled slightly as he wheezed and gasped.

Jack should have stopped but those words kept echoing. I hate her. They'd waited so long to have a baby. They'd both wanted a family so much. Jack lived with the worry daily that Logan might choose something more normal and take Joe and go get together with Savannah.

He couldn't hate her. He couldn't.

It didn't matter than Logan was useless, that he was doubled up and defenseless. Jack hit him again, harder than he probably should have.

Usually logan could take his hits. But not here, not today. He was broken and aching, and he hit his knees as his hands came up to defend himself. Weak, and so unlike himself.

"Stop. Just sop," he said quietly, sounding tired and beat down.

Jack drew back his fist to swing again but Logan was well and truly beaten. Rather than hit him Jack opened his hand and laid a benevolent palm heavily on Logan's head.

"Get up," he said gently. "Get up, Logan. Come to bed."

Logan didn't get up though, instead he moved closer, his hands on Jack's thighs and his forehead against the man's hip.

"I'm sorry," he said, voice tight and calm all at once. "I'm so sorry, Jack. I'm sorry for everything. All the shit I put you and Joe through, all the stupid stunts I pull. It's not fair. It's got to be hurting you- I never meant to hurt you. Not like this.

"Oh, god, Logan," Jack said softly, a wave of sadness hitting him hard. He couldn't deny Logan hurt him but it wasn't likely in the way the man was thinking. It was in moments like this, watching him break and being helpless to stop it.

"Stop it," he ordered weakly, then sank down so he could press his forehead to Logan's. "It's going to be all right. It will. Don't be sorry."

Logan pulled back slightly, looking Jack in the eyes and exhaling softly.

Wordlessly he caught Jack's hand and held it tight in his, squeezing and then letting go.

"You're a good man, Captain," he said quietly.

Jack's heart was so tight he wasn't even sure it was beating. He looked deep into Logan's eyes and managed a small, sad smile.

"You made me that way," he said softly. "You made me honest. You made me better. I was such a coward until you came along and made me into a good man. It's all you...I owe you everything."

"No. I don't buy that. It was always there, you just stopped hiding it when I came around," Logan replied, rubbing his face and offering a broken smile.

"You took a cheep shot hitting me in the gut just now though," he said.

"You left yourself wide open," he replied, leaning in again so he could kiss Logan's forehead lightly.

"You've still got a hell of a hook, and you're so much better at it than you were way back when when we'd fight on the beach. I can't believe it's been so long. I can't believe you're twenty five now..."

He didn't want to think of how old he was.

"Yeah. Me either, man. I don't feel older. If anything I feel like I'm regressing. It's kind of fucked up," he admitted with a frown. "You've changed though. You're kinder. I look at you and I don't have to guess what you want from me. For a while I couldn't trust you, even when you were in my bed. Now though..."

He trailed off. It went without saying that He trusted Jack with his life.

Jack nodded in understanding. Logan didn't need to say it.

"I feel the same way," he admitted. "I...I love you, Logan. I know I say it all the time and the words don't mean much when you say them so often, but..." He sighed. "I can lie so well but I have one hell of a time telling you how I feel. You're so much better at it than me. You always have been. But I love you. No matter what. I'm here."

"I know. You don't have to say it, Jack. I know. I mean how many guys would climb a tree in the rain just to help some idiot get down, right?" he asked, a faint but genuine smile on his lips.

He paused, then wet his lips.

"You still have those pants?" he asked, glancing at Jack as his mood lifted slightly.
